Almost six months have passed since we published our three shortlists of preferred trusts for capital growth, income and growth and high income. These three shortlists are intended to offer ideas for building the core of different portfolios with those central aims for the long term. 

Reflecting the fact that discounts often present shorter-term opportunities, we introduced some “trading” ideas around these core funds, in our portfolio of discount opportunities, last updated in May. Here we provide an update on the performance of our picks and update our recommendations.
