Against a backdrop of falling interest rates and major political events around the world, join Kepler Trust Intelligence, as we examine investment trusts offering exposure to global markets in a year of flux for international equities.
Sessions will run for 45 minutes, including time for questions from the audience, moderated by a member of the Kepler Trust Intelligence team.
Wednesday 9th October | 10.30 | Henderson European Trust
Henderson European Trust (HET), the product of a merger between Henderson European Focus Trust and Henderson EuroTrust in July, is now one of the largest trusts in its sector. With Europe in a state of flux, the trust offers exposure to companies which – while they may be nominally European businesses – are truly global in their scope. The team joins us shortly after another substantial cut in interest rates from the ECB to discuss their outlook for the region and the strategy.
Wednesday 9th October | 12.30 | Shires Income
UK equity manager Iain Pyle will join us to discuss the outlook for domestic equities and in particular small and mid caps which he believes are offering increasing value, and has increased the trust's exposure to this year via Shires Income's (SHRS) strategy.
Thursday 10th October | 12.30 | Middlefield Canadian Income
Our session on North America will focus on its largest – but for investors most overlooked – country; Canada. The Canadian market is very different in composition to its southern neighbour, with financials, utilities and energy dominating, meaning that Canadian equities offer diversification from the tech-heavy S&P 500. Canada also has an equity-income culture more akin to the UK, and Middlefield Canadian Income (MCT) offers investors a current dividend yield of 4.6.
Tuesday 22nd October | 13.15 | BlackRock Latin American
BlackRock Latin American (BRLA) is the only investment trust investing in the Latin American region that is rich in resources and potential. Managers Sam Vecht and Christoph Brinkmann use BlackRock’s deep resources and connections to identify the best growth opportunities in the region. Sam Vecht will join us for the webinar at a time when geopolitical and trade trends seem to be favouring Latin America.
